Las Vegas!
Ok it is going to be very hard to capture this trip in words but I will try.
Part I
So I headed to Las Vegas to watch my buddy Adam get married. Friday night I arrived in the City of lights and went directly to the rehearsal dinner which was at the hotel we were staying in Treasure Island.
So.. after the rehearsal dinner and some gambling which went south very quick I met up with my buddy Casey who lives in Vegas since last summer. Next thing I know I walk out of a club and the sunshine hits me in the face (yes I stayed out all night and didn't even know it). So I rush home to sleep for 4 hours before Adam's wedding starts. The wedding was at 3pm on Saturday and required us to Bus out into the desert 45 minutes to the Valley of Fire State Park. This was a absolutely beautiful drive on a sunny and 63 degree windy day. Adam's wedding took place and everyone looked great along with the natural beauty of the rock formations around us. We then bused back to the reception which was at Maggiano's Italian restaurant on The Strip in the Fashion Show Mall. I was so tired that I had to leave the reception around 10:30 and go take a nap in Adam's room on the floor since I didn't have a room for Saturday. Sitting at the hotel's Casino bar I watched interesting characters pass out in chairs and stumble around until the wee hours of the night. Finally 4am rolled around and I had text message directions to cab to my buddy Casey's place in southwest Las Vegas residential area.
Arriving at 4:30am to a house in Las Vegas where you have never been and the last person you spoke with said "I'll leave the door unlocked for you" which was about two hours ago makes you think... If I enter this house at this hour still dressed in a suite from the wedding I hope to god it is the right house. So I proceeded to enter and didn't see anyone awake or around on the first floor. I then started to search for photos of occupants in hopes to prove it was my buddies place. Eventually I found some familiar faces on the walls and was able to pass out in peace on the couch.
Part II
Awakening at around 2pm I looked over to see my buddy sitting watching TV and realized I probably just slept for about 12 hours. I woke up and said my hellos then Casey, Blake and I headed for the all you can eat Sushi joint not to far from their house. Yes all you can eat sushi at first glance would scare me I have had some strange encounters with sushi and you would think I would have learned to play it safe.. guess not. Anyway I tore apart about 5 plates of sushi then went into a food coma and decided to sleep some more..
Eventually we got ready and headed down to the Strip and went to Revolutions nightclub inside the Mirage. We saw Tommy Lee hanging out at the bar with us, yes I know he is a shitty C list celebrity and I could really care less but thought I would mention it. He turned out to be DJ'n that night and was trying to pull off a Progressive/Breaks type set although it failed miserably with Tommy having to instruct the crowd repeatedly to "Dance, Dance come on people Dance". Needless to say we left very soon after that.. Just a small tip if you want to fit in in this town it is all about the Progressive/House music. Yes it is just fun to say those to words... Progressive / House. (Blake that was for you)
Well some other highlights must have been the 9.95 buffet Casey and I went to in Old Vegas and it was probably the worst food I have ever eaten. We sat down and our waiter came for drinks when Casey ordered the Lemonade we were dealt a suprise. Server responded "You don't want the lemonade, it's no good here". So after that great confidence booster we headed up to the 8 stations of sub-par cafeteria food which I think may have taken 10 years off my life. One bottle of pepto-bismol later and a drive home we were officially in a digestive hurt that would last for days...
Ok so to sum up this was a great trip. Gambling I lost a fair amount of money, Drinking I spent a fair amount of money, eating I spent a fair amount of money... Together now I spent a shit ton of money! But it was good times had by all and the mid 70 degree weather on Tuesday was a nice taste of spring. I must now rest for days and regenerate brain cells. Good night..
